Webinar: Site Finding Strategies - Church Land

Publication date: 04 March 2024

Organisation: Community Land Trust Network

The Archbishop of Canterbury and the Bishop of Kensington have spoken in support of using some of the church’s approximately 81,000 hectares to address the current housing crisis. But church delivery of affordable housing has been slow progress - is it time for CLTs to step in and explore strategic church partnerships for affordable housing developments?

In this webinar, we're joined by Beki Winter from Faith In Affordable Housing (Housing Justice) and Kendal CLT. The Faith In Affordable Housing Project, currently operates in England and Wales, and provides practical support and advice to churches on disposing of surplus assets.

We're also joined by Laura Moss, a partner at Wrigleys Solicitors, who have kindly sponsored this webinar. Laura advises on a wide range of third sector matters and works with charities, social enterprises, housing entities, local authorities and community groups.

This session looks at:

  • Identifying and securing opportunities
  • How partnership and community engagement can support site acquisition
  • What churches are looking for with affordable housing partnerships

Who's the webinar for? This session is open to all CLT Network members and will be an informative and useful session looking at approaches that CLT Network members might explore as they look for a site.
