A guide to Red Book valuations for community led housing groups

A Red Book valuation may be needed at various stages in a project’s development, for example:

  • Site stage - to to due diligence when purchasing a site
  • Plan stage - for development finance
  • Build stage - to protect their lending agreement
  • Live stage - for mortgage finance

This guide sets out what a Red Book valuation is, when it might be needed, who can do it, and key factors in deciding whether or not to do one.
