Community owned renewable energy: an introduction for CLTs from Communities for Renewables CIC

Publication date: 06 July 2021

Organisation: National CLT Network, Ecology Building Society & Communities for Renewables CIC

A community owned renewable energy project can boost the sustainability of your CLT, help you meet planning requirements, and provide consistent annual income. This webinar is presented by Jake Burnyeat, Managing Director of Communities for Renewables CIC, and covers the options open to you if you are looking to develop a renewable energy scheme - whether you are working on your first project or even if you’ve completed your scheme and are thinking, “what’s next?”. Ecology Building Society sponsored this webinar and also provide a few remarks on the topic from the perspective of a lender interested in renewables.

You'll also hear from Sally Murrell-Smith of Totnes Renewable Energy Society about their partnership with Transition Homes CLT to deliver a solar micro grid for the community housing scheme.

Communities for Renewables CIC (CfR) is a Cornwall-based community interest company which helps communities across the UK to set up local energy enterprises and works with them to develop, finance and manage their own renewable energy generation.
