Training & Accreditation Programme

Become an Accredited Adviser and support groups to create the housing they need for their community.

It's vital that the growing number of community led housing groups have access to accredited advisers who they trust will know the best and most up-to-date information to help them succeed.

So we have developed a unique training and accreditation programme to ensure advice provided to groups covers the full range of options open to them, such as build method and approach, and covers the full life of their project, from concept through to completion.

We also want to recognise the extraordinary level of knowledge and skill already present in the sector and make sure there is accreditation that properly reflects that. This is why our programme leaves advisers accredited by both Community Led Homes and the Chartered Institute of Housing.

This training programme is for you if:

  • You already provide community led housing guidance by working for an enabling hub or for a Local Authority and want to gain accreditation to match your experience.
  • You are a housing professional with less experience of community led housing but want to gain more knowledge of the sector to potentially advise groups in the future.

How it works

Our training programme was developed and is run by Blase Lambert of the Confederation of Co-operative Housing, one of the partners in the Community Led Homes programme.

The training costs £200.00 per module (plus VAT). There are 4 modules in the complete programme so the total cost is £800.00 (plus VAT).

The course consists of four two-day training sessions delivered online. The course is assessed by online exam which can be completed whenever is convenient for the trainee and we have a range of online training materials that can be referred to when completing the course.
